Our Mission

To discover and bring to the world the best boutique wines of Argentina that exhibit only the highest quality and value.

The Anuva Story

It began with an American guy who fell in love with an Argentine girl only 36 hours after arriving in Buenos Aires…. Seriously, they just got married.

Living in Argentina, they realized they loved the local wines and with frequent trips to the U.S they saw that quality Argentinean wines were hardly known in the U.S. So they began on a journey that combined their cultures, their languages, and their countries: Anuva Wines.

The Anuva Philosophy

The Name “Anuva”

The dual nature of the company and its founders required a name that reflected this. An + Uva (“uva”  means “grape” in Spanish) clearly combines the two languages that we use for our work but also, ironically, reflects our core philosophies. Anuva focuses on winemakers who focus on the grapes. Not oak, not margins. Just the grapes. Only the uvas.

But Anuva goes a step beyond that: the word Anuva has other meanings. In Russia, it is a girl’s name that means “a new beginning,” and in India, it means “knowledge.” Anuva: most simply, a grape, but also a new beginning, sharing its knowledge of wine and Argentina with the world. This led to our selection of the logo…

The Ceibo

Once we found our identity through our name, we had to create a logo that encompassed the name, its meanings, our mission, and our uniqueness. The “ceibo” is the Argentine national flower and Anuva’s logo is the nascent version of the ceibo. Using this nascent plant represents most obviously our commitment to the grapes and to Argentina but in addition, our own new beginning and our company’s path toward sharing our knowledge and discoveries to fulfill our mission.

Why Argentina?

Argentina has the most unique terroir in the world. It’s the only major region with a protective physical barrier (The Andes), has the highest elevation vineyards in the world, over 300 days of sun per year, abundant fresh irrigation water, a natural absence of pests and disease which means no chemicals, and is the only place where Malbec, Torrontés and Bonarda shine.

Why Boutique Producers?

The Anuva Wines boutique wineries hand-select their fruit, take the best care of their vines, and ensure quality through rigorous, personalized controls. They do not buy juice or grapes from other vineyards or wineries; on the contrary, they provide the huge wineries in Argentina with their grapes and their juice.

The Anuva Selection – A Tried and True Formula of Consistently Superior Quality at All Price Points

Anuva selects only the best wines made by boutique producers to bring to our clients in the U.S. To ensure consistently superior quality in an objective manner, Anuva uses a panel of expert judges and wine enthusiasts to conductblind tastings to rate the wines. After normalizing the scores and tallying the overall average, the Anuva team compares this result to the price of the wine to ensure that our clients get the best wine at any price every time.

The Anuva Pledge

Wine can be just grapes or it can be about much more than that. It can be about travel, leisure, sensory experience, culture, bringing people together or simply having a drink. Anuva the word, the logo, and the philosophy encompass all of this. But also we believe that ultimately wine is fun and doesn’t have to be snobby or hard to understand. So in addition to our commitment to the best wines, the greatest value, new beginnings and sharing our discoveries, Anuva pledges to transmit our enthusiasm and joy for wine to all our partners, providers and especially our clients.
