Hello fellow wine aficionados!
Greetings from Buenos Aires, our wine tasting Headquarters.
Like we do every week, here is a little list of some articles that I found to be very informative and/or entertaining this week:
NPR: Boxed wine as a fashion accessory? U.S. based Squish Wines sells bags of wine in a box in a bag shaped as a purse. Maybe a Louis Vuitton collaboration in the future?
The Orange County Register: The harvest is upon us my friends. (Well, not down here in Buenos Aires, but for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere it is). It’s California Wine Month. Here are some contacts at each of California’s major wine-producing regions.
Bloomberg: If you’ve got California vineyard property, things are looking good for you according to Bloomberg. It’s a sellers market and California is hot right now.
Tri-City Herald: Perfection in Washington state. Winemakers there say conditions couldn’t be better and they are expecting a wonderful harvest.
Decanter: Are we talking about wine in boxes again? Yup. In the UK cartons of Tetra Pak wine will be popping up on shelves shortly. This makes the screw-top advocates look like purists.
Travel World News: Olive Oil and wine tastings in Italy. I’m very tempted to get on a plane and do this.
Xinhua Net: Chinese tourism has been on the rise here in Argentina. Xinhua Net goes to Mendoza and describes the experience.
San Jose Mercury News: In case you didn’t catch the last news roundup, you will find more information about this year’s winners of the Wine Bloggers Conference in Oregon. Check out the recommendations for other interesting wine blogs to peruse.
Wine Spectator: Wine Spectator asks, can fine wine ever really be democratic? A well thought out and interesting piece by Matt Cramer.
Happy drinking!
