Concha y Toro (via Drink Argentina) gives us a nice infographic on the ideal temperatures for wine tasting (in celsius).

Bon Appetit Magazine’s Hot 10: America’s Best New Restaurant List is out.  (Spoiler alert:  San Francisco’s State Bird Provisions takes the number one spot).   There are also about 40 recipes from those restaurants in the article – which should make for some fun wine pairings.

Matching Food and Wine’s Fiona Beckett writes a post about challenging the notion of classic wine pairings:  Must Grouse Wine Pairings be Classic?

On Wine Terroirs, read the story of a guy who went to France to study history, got a part time gig helping at a winery and is now making his own.

Decanter does a nice piece on how expensive the oaking process is and asks the question, “Is all that money being wasted?”

Wine Spectator’s Ben O’Donnell writes about The World’s Most Exclusive $20 Wines and teaches us the trick to benchmarking on a budget.

Reuters states that the Extra-dry Weather is Bittersweet Harvest for US Winemakers, the total crop grown was less but the overally quality of the product will be higher because of the extra heat and little rain.

Bellingham Herald:  In Confessions of and ex-”Uber-Wine Guy”,  Kyle Meyer, after working as a wine buyer for 20 years states that he “was like a studio sound mixer attending a concert and obsessing over whether the guitar or the bass were a little off. If you’re a wine buyer, whether it’s a $10 or a $1,000 bottle, “you’re that guy at the mixing board, going no, that’s off. No, that needs to be tweaked.”

This is not really wine related, but it’s pretty amazing and we feel it should be shared: This tumblr website pairs poetry and famous quotations with pictures of donuts.
