Empanadas Saltenas
Empanadas saltenas, found in Northern Argentina and Bolivia, have a more orangey color due to different spices used and are more oval shaped than semi-circle shaped empanadas from Buenos Aires. The main difference between a typical empanada from Buenos Aires and an empanada saltenais the spices used. Empanadas from the North of Argentina usually contain comino (cumin) and pimento (paprika), two spices that give them a very distinct flavor.
