Peat Soil
Filled with organic material, peat soil is quite acidic. Peat soil is often water logged, creating an environment prone to rot, but draining peat soil properly eliminates this problem. Adding fertilizer (one that can be with small amounts of limestone extracts) can help peat soil in cultivating plants. Found mostly in marshes, peat soil is the accumulation of dead organic matter, although new organic material in the soil will not decay as readily because of peat soil’s acidity. There are fewer nutrients found in peat soil than in other soil types.
