Vine Pests and Diseases
Vine pests and disease tend to plague humid and wet climates, and Argentina’s semi-arid climate receiving an average 200 milliliters (7.9 inches) of rain a year prevents the vast majority of pests and disease. Without the pests and disease, Argentine wineries do not need to spray their vineyards with lots of pesticides. Argentina can create a virtually organic wine because winemakers use little to no pesticides to cultivate the grape vines.
