Differences vs Classic Spanish
Instead of the classic Spanish tu to say “you,” Argentineans (mostly in Buenos Aires) say “vos” (though using tu is still understood).
For example, instead of saying tu tienes (“you have”), Argentineans say vos tenes or instead of saying tu puedes (“you can”), Argentineans say vos podes.
Not only does the present indicative change in second person singular, but also the imperative in the second person singular.
For example, instead of saying ven (“come”), Argentineans say veni or instead of ten (“have”), Argentineans say tene with an accent over the “e.” Tu eres becomes vos sos.
