Ice Cream -- Helado
Eating helado (ice cream) in Argentina, especially Buenos Aires, is a real treat. Argentina’s ice cream, reminiscent of Italian gelato, is made from scratch using the freshest ingredients; for example, squeezing the juice from grapefruits rather than using grapefruit concentrate for grapefruit ice cream. All year round, although especially in the summer, ice cream parlors bustle with business. In Buenos Aires and many other cities most ice-cream stores deliver to your door.
Recommendations
We recommend Persicco, Ducco, Freddo and Cabaña Tuyu, but you almost can’t go wrong with eating ice cream in Argentina. In Mendoza, many fantastic wine flavored ice creams are available including Malbec ice cream with raisins, Torrontes ice cream with walnuts, and Bonarda ice cream with chocolate chunks.
